Massimo Agostinelli left the halls of Gaynor in 1999, but he remembers his time at the school with great fondness. He recalls the joy of playing basketball and dodgeball in the gymnasium of the old townhouse but most importantly he remembers the kindness of the teachers, their one-on-one attentiveness, and patience with him as a student in allowing his creativity to flow.
Growing up with a mother who sculpts and a father who collects art, Agostinelli was naturally drawn to the field and found a passion in creating art in a variety of mediums. After Gaynor, he moved to Europe and studied art at Webster University in Geneva, Switzerland. He apprenticed as a printmaker and typesetter before discovering incredible success in his paintings which combine both mediums. His works have been featured at Dallas Contemporary, Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art, The Tsinandali Museum and Museo Rufino Tamayo as well as galleries all over the world ranging from South Africa to New York and Japan.
Agostinelli currently lives in Switzerland with his wife and two young children who are ages 2 years and 6 months. He says that he is incredibly grateful to find his passion and turn it into a professional career.
