Gaynor Students Recognized by Scholastic Art & Writing Awards

The Scholastic Awards are the longest running and most competitive art and writing awards for teens in the country. Past winners include famous writers like Stephen King, Sylvia Plath, Truman Capote, Amanda Gorman, and more. Regional winners were just announced, and Gaynor had three Blue Cluster students be recognized. Leila F. received a Silver Key in Short Story; Sam M. received an Honorable Mention in Speculative Fiction; and Shalev S. received a Gold Key in Memoir, a Silver Key in Poetry, and an Honorable Mention in Poetry and Flash Fiction. The Gold Key award means that Shalev’s memoir piece will go on to be judged nationally!
