Creating a Sensory Hallway for Students

Did you know April is Occupational Therapy Month? To celebrate, Gaynor’s Occupational Therapy department created a sensory hallway on the third floor of the North Building. From beginning to end, the hallway is full of quick movement activities that students can complete between classes or during snack time. Easy-to-follow signs and bright graphics make it appealing and they’re free to do the course—which takes approximately thirty seconds—as often as they’d like. Check out the video below to see the sensory hallway in use!

At Stephen Gaynor School, students with learning differences develop essential academic and critical thinking skills through individualized and evidence-based approaches, empowering them to reach their full potential. Students learn to advocate for themselves and others while actively building an inclusive community, a sense of belonging, and a belief in their own possibilities.
